PHOTOGRAV VS ENGRAVELAB SOFTWARE
Get on the band wagon with the right software and move ahead. They each do things better than the other…each with it’s own specialty. Photoshop and Corel Draw are different from each other. Being forced to learn Corel Draw is making me a more skilled artist and engraver. It is the right program for this industry. Since getting my laser (Epilog 24TT X 45W) I am on the Corel Draw learning curve. I work heavily in Photoshop and deal with images all the time.

So I’m not going to tell you it can’t be done, but if you go that route, you’re pretty much on your own. In addition, there are quite a number of laser files and tips scattered about the internet, all focused on Corel Draw. It is however a very useful tool for image editing. For example, Photoshop has some vector capabilities, but it would be quite a struggle to try and control the laser.

It has been quite a while since I looked at Print shop, but I think it’s effectiveness with the laser largely depends on it’s vector capabilities. The only problem I’ve had is that I need to ungroup boxes or it only cuts 3 sides of the box. Try it! In general, any program will work with the laser because the laser acts like a normal printer.įor me, i like to use macromedia’s freehand. It will ultimately depend on the types of processing you will be involved in. I think you’ll find that CorelDRAW or PhotoShop will give you a much wider range of processing capabilities, and will be much better suited for working with the laser. I’ve used both programs but I’ve only used Corel with the laser. I wondered if anyone knew if we could use Print Shop instead of Crel Draw? I’m sorry if that is an ignorant question, but PS is what I am familiar with and use all the time. Hello! We are new and we are thinking about the Epilog Mini.
